    So…I have a question Sandy-
    Do you not drink any alcohol at all? Just asking for a friend 😉
    If you allow yourself a dietary ‘splurge’ while you’re training, what might it be?

      Dear Slim;

      I had a glass of champagne on New Years Eve. And I do have a big birthday coming in April, so maybe I’ll have another glass next month. And food splurges? I don’t really consider my diet deprived. But every so often, the chef at Gjusta (a newish restaurant in Venice Beach) slips me a light-as-air Pavlova after lunch or dinner, and, I confess, I cannot resist.

    What type of protein powder do you use? Whey based; soy; vegan? Does it matter? 🙂

      I use protein powder infrequently. But when I do, it is Mattole Valley Naturals, made from goat milk. http://www.mattolevalleynaturals.com. My doctor recently recommended two others, but I have not tried either one yet: Pure Lean or PaleoMeal-DF.
